I built my first cnc machine about 3 months ago. I fited it out witha Dewalt 600W laminate trimmer. Yesterday the brushes failed. It is still under guarantee, so I have sent it for repair, but it is obvious that this machine was a poor choice. The machine is a fixed gantry type and is only 30"*24", so I don't want to put a physicall large router, as it will be too limiting as to what I can machine. I have been doingsome 3D wood carvngs, limiting pass depths to 0.1" and feed speeds of 16"-20"/min, whch I do not think is excessive. Can anybody please suggest a better choice of router, preferably with similar dimensions to the Dewalt/ Porter Cable laminae trimmers? Thanks, Gareth |

| Thanks for that Hazard. Porter Cable will not do because we are on 240v in Wales. I found the equivalent of the Bosch model you suggested. The model is "Bosch gmf 1400ce" in Europe. My initial exitement has been tempered by the price tag--- Could not find it under £300, which is over $450!!!. We are being robbed here!! |

| Try and find a hitatchi 12vc they are real quiet and they might come in 220v. Have one and used it 300+ hours with no problems.

| Would this be the equivalent of the American Hitachi? Read a review and it was good. I've gt a 110 box, but do't really want to go down that route as there are already a mass of cables around the table |
