Wind generator blades.

I was wondering if anyone here has made blades for wind generators? I see lots of designs on the net for the blades and the electrics, just looking for others thinking of maybe making one.

That last concept looks interesting. The timing pulleys look like they were made on a 3D printer ie:RepRap.

I am currently not interested in building my own windmill (too many projects - not enough time), but I found that site fascinating. What are your plans?

For me I was researching the possibility of making the blades of a traditional windmill on my CNC but after reading that thread I not so sure a traditional large blade design is the way to go. I didn't like safety aspect of the more common large blade design, I think some of the designs in that thread are much more safe. I do not have a problem with the electrics on a project like this but the mechanical aspect has many possibilities. I have not seen any numbers on that last design but the mechanical components look quite interesting. I will be watching the thread for more ideas.
