Sizing cable carriers?

I wanna get some of those neat cable carriers for my 4x8 router build.

Now I see that there's many cross sections to choose from, and I'm uncertain how to choose a size. Can they be crammed in there, or is some clearance required??

I have NEMA23 steppers and the 2.2KW water-cooled spindle. I'll probably only put a cable carrier on one side and run a fixed, non-carried cable across the gantry to the second X-axis stepper.

So, the gantry drag would have two stepper cables, 4 wires for the grounded spindle, and 2 coolant lines. The X-drag, though, carries 4 stepper cables, the spindle cable, and two coolant lines.

I was planning to use Canare wire, but the 14ga star quad stuff's 6mm dia and pretty expensive. Maybe I should go back to the cheap Belden stuff? The Canare's really great about self-draping and handling lots of flex, but the cable drag protects it and limits the bending radius, so is that even a needed property?

I need to decide pretty soon, though- what size cable carriers?
