Newbie- To build or buy

Hey Guys


Looking to build my first cnc router and need a little guidance. Right now I am leaning towards purchasing this kit( to make a 1450mm x 800mm table):

3 linear rails SBR set+ 4 ballscrews + 4BK/BF+4 coupler | eBay

Along with:

CNCRouterParts

If I build the body out of extruded aluminium and make the motor mount plates myself (I have access to a cnc knee mill) any estimates to what this would cost?

How do you think the quality of this table would compare with the xzerocnc ViperXZ 30 x 48 machine that sells for $2650

I also like the ViperXZ because I can drive to Toronto to pick it up and avoid any heavy brokerage fees.

Bottom line: how will a table build using linearmotionbearing2008 parts and CNCRP motors stand up to the ViperXZ?

If you dont want the extra cost of building it yourself you could buy a good 600 or 900mm x 1500 m machine for around $4000.00.
