Getting an Old Machine Running

Hello!

Our office recently purchased a used Zen Toolworks 7x7" CNC (this model). It seems to be in decent condition (as far as a used CNC goes XD). We have a PC set up with Mach3 and are drafting designs with AutoCAD. There are few things missing that we need to get functional before we can start making stuff.

1) A spindle and tools. We are not trying to do anything amazing, mainly plastic parts. I've heard of people using dremels or hand routers. Is there a favorite model people use on here or any tips? What is the best way to mount it to the flat tool plate?

2) What can I expect from this machine? Not that I have any expectations up front, but how accurate can it be? I've attached an image that shows the electronics that came with it as well.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Plug it in and make it move using jog,
then do a gcode test/exercise machine axis to all extremes, kind a torture test, to check dependability.

There is a Zen Toolworks forum here on the CNC Zone that may be of help.

Resistance is not futile. It is voltage divided by current (R=V/I).
