Mobile Mill To Go

1 week ago I started to setup a new project :

Target spec ist to create a fully capable 3D router with maximum working area possible in respect to the following restrictions:

Weight - below 30 KG - Airfreight compatible!

Same cutting power as my big machine with appr. 200 KG

Capable to cut aluminium plastics and other prototyping materials

Fast assembly and disassembly like a killer gun

Dimensions in disassembled state to fit in a pilot case or similar transportation and protection casing

And so I went on ...

Machine frame is made from fine planned aluminium
equiped with modified professional linear tec
motors will be stepper motors and Spindle will be a 700W to 1KW high speed AC spindle

Nope .. Its just a coarse idea but before talking about it I will have to prove it ... ( until that point is established I just invest in the long term activities and low material costs... the plained aluminum for the frame is about 200 the additional effort lateron is 2.5 thousand... so I keep that secret at the moment..

the BC that was one of the first questions in the German forum without placing the first remark ...( but I should have learned .... reversible psychology works )

Now I got a bit further - Nut and bearing blocks are cut and lightened

and today I decided to get into the fixation elements for the loose side block

including the "O" for the inductive reference switches...

I like the lightening technique and workmanship quality on your plates. When finished, these machines will be functioning, crafted works of art. Real nice work

Here is a little bit of finishing work ( fine plain Alumium is not available in thicknesses below 10mm so I tried to give my 5mm normal plate a shiny look

In Swizerland they would call it " Genfer Streifenschliff"
