It would have to be a fairly strong magnet, and very close.. A while back I stuck a magnetic indicator base to a stepper motor (was the only steel on the apparatus, and was trying to measure movement), the motor wouldn't turn at all. Completely changed the magnetic field of the motor. Depending on the stepper motor, the housing that you see is a functional part of the electromagnetic operation of the motor. (the kind where you can see the stacked steel plates) I'm sure there are some that are shielded as well, maybe the round "can" type..

Most likely nothing. Things have to be pretty close and or large to be effected significantly by magnetic fields. At least as far as forces are concerned. Most likely if anything the stepper would induce a small current to the electromagnets coils causing small magnetic fields on the door mechanism.

I played with a hall sensor around the outside of a square style stepper motor, running and powered down, and there was very little in the way of radiated magnetic field. The magnetism is kept inside the motor pretty efficiently. Also magnetic field drops enormously once there is more than a couple of inches air gap between the magnets, so in the case of your motor and door lock I think there's almost zero chance of them affecting each other!
