Slide ideas?

Im looking for an inexpensive way to do the slides on my machine...I am just in the designing stage. I know that cheap dosent mean high quality but im looking for idea for keeping the cost of the build down.

I'd like to have 18" on Y, 12" on Z and a min of 18" on X. I will probably use 1/4-20 threaded rod and an improvised nut system. Im using nema 17 motors and the tb6560 board. I am looking to cut wood, plastic and foam.

Cheap sometimes works Great and the size you want will work
very well with brass tubes from most hobby shops.

Thanks for the response!

I read through some of that thread and am going to do something similar. I just bought the shafts and plastic bearings from mcmaster carr. I hadnt thought to look there. They had everything i was looking for at prices i could pay!
