cnc plasma cut parts for DIY cnc router | | I am designing a 2X4 machine. It will use router part extended trucks on all the axis’s. A lot of the misc. parts I am fabricating on a Plasma cam cnc plasma cutter out of 10ga. steel plate. In this design I have the Y axis running on the long side instead of the short side the reason is that I want to see if a full 4X 8 sheet of plywood can be indexed cutting 2 foot at a time. I have talked to someone with a 4x8 machine and he has said that 90% of his time is he works on 2 foot of the machine. Notice that I have made the table height fixed and have designed the y and z axis the ability to be raised and lowered. (milling aluminum I want the z axis bearing as close to the work as possible I can raise the y/z axis up to to one foot over the table for larger work. Any aux support tables/stands can be a fixed height as the table bed if fixed. it has been designed around the 7815 router the router holder consist of two c shaped ass'ys bolted to 1515 8020 keeping the router as close to the y bearings as possible. |
