Problem with Probotix stepper motor driver? | | I have Probotix 3-axis kit with PBX-RF breakout board, three ProboStep stepper motor driver boards, three blue stepper motors, and a power supply. I have been using the kit on my CNC router that I built for about two years. Today, I found out that one of the stepper motor driver boards may be bad. I was able to turn the shaft on the stepper motor that is connected to the bad board and the shafts on other stepper motors are "locked". I switched wires between motors and boards for a test and found out that the board was bad. My shop teacher was going to order a new board to replace the bad board. We got a Magnum Phoenix CNC router last month but we were not able to use it because the machine requires 120V 30A outlet and my computer doesn't have a 25-pin serial port. By switching wires between motors and boards and finding out that I was able to turn the shaft on the other motor, am I right in finding out that I have a bad board? |
