I guess this is an optical limit switch...how to wire?

These came attached with my slides. They look to be optical limit switches. There are 4 connectors. Anyone know how to wire them? Thanks.

Google u-shaped micro photoelectric sensors, you should find something. 2 legs are power in and the other 2 are the outputs, on or off.

Thanks. Found it. The description stated that it works on 5-24v. I'm using a 48v power supply with my gecko g540......does it output at 48v to the limit switch?

Sounds like the transistor output side may be restricted to 24v. So 48v is going to exceed it.

From what I have seen I would say yes but don't quote me on it. They way they have the limits wired in the gecko manual it looks like they do get their power from the motor power supply. I haven't even made it to the wiring part on my build yet so I don't really know. Sorry if I was no help..

Bummer. Now I have to get limit switches. Have no idea how I'll attach them.

Thanks. Good looking limit switch. However, I'm still stuck with the fact that I'm running at close to 48V. I guess mechanical switches are my only option.

Another solution would be just to purchase a CHEAP seperate power supply for the limits, and you would be good to go, laptop power supplies are nice and tidy if your enclosure is small

interesting thought. I could use a 9v battery? I'm looking at the gecko g540 diagram...how would I do that? With a 48v power supply to the (+) side, the limit switch complete the circuit to the 48v (-) side. How do I connect a 9v battery?

Maybe I should rephrase the question, what is the voltage trigger on the g540's limit switch input?
