Hey All, Summary: What size/torque stepper motors do you recommend? Finishing the design particulars on a 100" x 50" x 5" Router Table. Construction will be Mostly Aluminum with Linear Ball Bearings. Router will be a Bosch Colt 1hp router. Material to cut will likely be mostly MDF, Hardwoods and *some* aluminum. Drives will be 3/8" Pitch timing belts (or 20 pitch rack & pinion). Leaning towards timing belt. Realistically looking to cut at 200 inches-per-minute. I'm trying to build for 0.001" Resolution, but realistically would be happy with 0.005-0.010" What size/torque stepper motors do you recommend? |

| Sounds like a G540 with 380oz steppers should work fine. 200ipm should be easyt o achieve, and cutting forces will be very low with the Colt. However, I'd question the use of a Colt for such a large machine. And I'd expect quite a bit of "bounce" or flexing from 100" of belt.
