I didn't want to offend Scheek and hijack His thread so I started this one. Senna came up with a great solution to keep the router from blowing dust everywhere and improving dust collection: Senna's dust collection solution LINK Since an .STL file isn't available to download, I will offer to make one for the most common used routers. I see the Hitachi used alot, and I have a Porter Cable 690, so we have to come up with a solution for it. I looked on the bottom of my PC690, and there are 2 holes on the bottom (above the collet), but they are not tapped. I don't want to get tapping shavings inside the motor and I don't want to take the motor apart, so we'll have to find another way to attach it. For now, attached is a drawing to start off with. I just pulled some dimensions out of the air because I don't have a Hitachi router, so mark whatever changes need to be made and I'll make them after work today or tomorrow. If you have an idea on how to attach it to the PC690, please post. P.S. If you don't have a scanner, no problem. After marking up a drawing and a scanner is not available, we simply take a picture with a cell phone and send the pic. As long as the room is bright enough, it's usually easy enough to read.

| My reason for this is when I'm using my PC router for doing PCBs I want to watch the milling process. I could watch it without the diverter but fiberglass FR4 gets blown everywhere so I hookup my dust collection which is not see-thru and therefore I can no longer watch the milling process. Thank you Lurker for making this available. |
