Hey guys. So I need your expertise again I have three of these steppers 1.8DEG. 3.6V SIZE 23 STEPMOTOR-MPJA, Inc. and the hobbycnc EZ board. The steppers have 6 wires. Can someone please help me figure out how to wire these? The only information I could find didn't fit my board so I'm kind of lost. Also, is there a way to test if the wiring is correct? I haven't put the chips in my board yet.Any responses are greatly appreciated! Thanks, Beau |

| Thanks Gerry. I looked at that but the notation is different than the wiring suggested in my manual. At least thats what I think. Here is the manual. HobbyCNC Pro Manual scroll all the way down for the wiring info. They seem to use different lettering. It confuses me but maybe you, being a genius that you are, can figure it out haha. Thanks a million, Beau |

| 6-wire stepper can be tested easily if you have a ohm meter (multimeter). They will be in 2 groups, and each group has 3 wires connected together. Out of those 3 wires, one is the middle and the other 2 wires are the "phase" wires you need to control the stepper. To find which is which, measure the ohms, there will be twice as many ohms between the 2 phase wires compared to the middle wire. As another easy method for 6-wire motors, generally if there are 4 coloured wires and a black and white wire, the black and white are the middle wires. If you are using the HobbyCNC stepper drivers then the 2 middle wires join together and go to power (motor power) and the 4 phase wires go to the 4 other pins. |
