Porter Cable or Cheap Chinese Spindle?

I've been using a P/C 7518 Router in my machine (came with it). The bearings are pretty sloppy and it's either replace them with better or get a 2.2 or 3kW Cheap Chinese Spindle.

What is the best move?


Would I have to have a VFD for the Chinese spindle if I only want to run it at full 24k RPMs?

SuperPID. You get what you pay for though. I believe the bearings on the PC7518 are fairly easily replaced though.

I'll probably head the bearings router. I'm sure it'll be cheaper and easier since it's already there. I really don't have a ton of complaints with the router other than it's noise.

Yes you would need a VFD for the china spindle. More complex wiring and setup..

Now that I'm building machine 2 I'm pretty worried I will not use my old 4x8 machine once I transplant the spindle to the new..hehe As I probably only install a PC or other router back in it's place..

I'd not go back willingly (from a spindle).. Although my spindle is a ekstrom carlson.
