Here is a video showing what my spindle is doing. I have both a 4KW Spindle and 4KW 220V VFD. The VFD is hooked up like this: ![]() I have the following settings as preferred by the supplier: PD005: 400.0 PD004: 400.0 PD003: 400.0 PD144: 3000 Here is a video showing you the setup is correct as specified by the seller, and exactly what is happening. YouTube - Chinese Spindle ProblemsThe video it shows me verifying the parameters for the VFD that the seller asked me to set, and then going through two runs with the spindle. In the first run it shows the spindle making noise, however the fan nor spindle is turning. I stop the VFD and make sure there is no current to the spindle, then I spin the collet twice with my hands to show that it is not bound up, then I start the second run. In the second run the spindle now turns, however the fan does not kick on and the spindle is super loud compared to normal. I shut it down so no harm is done, and then the VFD starts beeping at me (this is the first time since I have been testing the spindle it has done this) Really looking for some help right now, when it runs, it runs great, but that is 1 time out of 4 or 5. |

| I figured this out once I got the volt meter out. There was not good conductivity on #2 pole of the connector. Hard wired the spindle around that part of the connector and viola, everything runs great. Will email Aoran and tell him the problem, hopefully get a new connector here, or I may just dress it up a little bit and take that connector out all together. |

I am electronically challenged so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I have been considering adding a spindle to my DIY hobby router gantry table. As I have followed the posts I thought that you had to have 220V to get the amps necessary to drive these spindles. I came accross this model which states it is for a 2.2kw spindle and has a rs485. What am I missing? TIA |

| Most VFD's do not need 220 to pull the amps needed since most of theese spindles don't pull more than 12 amps, which is easily carried by 110. rs485 is the connector type used to communicate with the VFD. This is only of the only VFDs on ebay that is 220 that I can recall. |

| Last time I enclosed the URL with "<>" and it got taken out. Live and learn. Anyone have an opinion on this one? 2.2KW 110V 3HP VFD AC Variable Frequency Speed Drive - eBay (item 350324043938 end time Jan-27-11 08:59:24 PST) |

| For that price, I would go with this instead, will be cheaper and better in the long run. http://www.driveswarehouse.com/Drive...00-022NFU.html |

None on that size spindle, I was just saying it would be cheaper to get a Hitachi X200 VFD than that HJ. |
