Thought I would post some pics of my little 16x30 cnc router table and ask for some help the z axis. Heres what I have so far. My question is is there any small leadscrew close to the 10-24 all thread I'm currently thinking about using for the z axis? And does anybody have any idea how big the leadscrew nut is for something in the lines of 10-24? I'm kind of limited in size which is the reason behind the 10-24 thread and nut You can see the allthread in the first pic. It will work, but just how good is allthread to use? | Wanted to add more pics if it helps. I dont know much about the steel 1/2-10 nuts. Will they wear out faster than delrin? I read somewhere not to use steel, but delrin. I plan on milling aluminum and brass, but made this for mainly wood routing and circuit board milling. I think for wood and circuit boards the steel is sufficient. Also is just using a spring loaded nuts satisfactory. |
