| I bought a Gecko G540 with motors, power supply, and cables from CNCRouterParts.com. They installed and adjusted the appropriate resisters. I just plugged eveything in and it worked! Seemed like a fair price to me but YMMV. Don I still have to put everything in a box, add a fan, install limit switches, and add relays to power spindle, etc. Last edited by DonFrambach; 11-21-2010 at 12:18 PM. Reason: added PS |

| It is just not that hard to set up. No reason to pay someone else if you dont have to. The knowledge you will gain is valuable. Try it and pose your questions here. You will get help. Or you could buy a turnkey system and wonder why it doesnt move.

| You are not comparing apples to apples. The Kelinginc kit does not include the motor cables. Also the cncrouterparts powersully is a name brand powersupply. (MEAN WELL) I know cause I have two of the kits. They are smaller quiter and more reliable than many of the no name powersupplis sold on that site. I have an EE so believe me I know how to wire these. Its that most woodworkers building cnc routers dont want to muck around building cables. |

| It's not that easy to get the cables right. Getting cncrouterparts cables solves a whole bunch of problems. It's the right gauge (although more copper would be better), the right shielding and has the right strain reliefs, plus of course the right resistor value. The soldering is good, and the length is appropriate. |

It doesn't look like Gerry was responding to you--he was responding to the OPs question about it being on sale. Gerry's point was he could get it for less than the temporary sale price any time at Keling. |
