I was reading this thread... http://www.cnczone.com/forums/diy-cn...s_perfect.html My question is, Is it advisable to use the pin input for the z homing switch in conjunction with the Z depth input? Can the one input serve both registering home and Z depth? Thanks! |

| Depends! I have been doing that for years in TurboCNC as I modified it to use an "auxiliary" Z axis home switch that I can set to the stock Z=0 height! For any other controller, I cannot answer.

| The issue that I had was that I needed to daisy chain my home switches in series - and therefore they were normally closed. The touch plate is as normally open (NO) type circuit so Mach couldn't quite figure out the logic of what was going on since the switches were already closed.... make sense? |
