| I purchased the largest servos Keling had to offer, along with 10:1 gear reduction boxes. I have already had to run a tap through the set screw holes to clean up the holes since the set screws would not set onto the servos output shaft. That problem is fixed. Now my problem is the servo does not have 2 flat opposing 90 degree flat surfaces for the set screw to seat on. It only has a single keyway, which in fact is not even wide enough to get one set screw in. My question is, Would i be able to use a die grinder and grind the surface of the keyway flush, then spin the shaft 90 degrees and grind another surface flush so the set screws will actually work how they are suppose to? Any help would be grateful. Thanks.. |

| And WALLA! It now works like it is suppose to! Using a high-speed grinder. A lot of the Chinese servos seem to use NEMA frames but dont use standard nema double flat faced 90 degree opposing set screws. They use Keys, which dont play well with the gear reduction units that don't have them. I don't trust two M6 set screws tightened down onto a cylindrical shaft that can deliver 1125 o.z. Inches of power. A quick fix and no more worries. I even used semi-perm loctite. |
