How to calibrate A Axis to get the right angle using Mach3 Settings menu Steps Per Unit button? Im using gear reduction and I want to get the perfect angle rotation when I command 45 90 180 degrees etc. Also if I plan to make the stepper motor as Tangenital Knife how can I get the steps per unit? |

| Try setting it to steps per degree of rotation.

stepper probably 200 steps per turn. From gear ratio work out how many stepper turns for 360 degrees. Multiply that by 200 above. Then divide by 360, for steps per degree.

| Use a rough estimate of steps to obtain one complete revolution using something which is indicatable such as a peg or a straight edge. When you can true a surface and command it to go 360deg's and it comes back to exact same point you have exactly what you need.
