| Hi all, Well i have spent the past few days trying to get this thing to run and had some wins but over all still not happy... I have : 2.2kw water cooled spindle Huanyang HY02D223B PMDX 107 PWM board PMDX 137 BOB the setting I have on my VFD: PD013 to 8 MASTER RESET <<< DO THIS FIRST PD005 Max Operating Frequency 400.0 PD004 Base Frequency 400.0 PD003 Main Frequency 25.0 PD001 is set to 1 PD002 is set to 1 PD006 - Intermediate Frequency - 2.5 PD007 Min. Frequency 1.2 PD008 Max. Voltage 220 PD009 - Intermediate Voltage – 13 PD010 is set to 6.5 PD011 - 120 PD041 - 8 PD070 is set to 0 PD141 Rated Motor Voltage 220 PD142 Rated Motor Current 7.5 PD143 - Motor Pole Number - 2 PD144 Rated Motor Revolution 3000 I have the PMDX 107 set up like so: Dip switches: 1)Off – Normal mode 2)Off – Normal mode 3)Off -For/Rev Setting for relay 4)Off –Charge pump on 5)Off -Fast 6)Off -10v Control signal Wiring out : PMDX 107 J1 to VFD J1 Rev/Dri = REV Fwd/Run = FOR COM = DMC Aref = Not connected Aout = VI Agnd = ACM I can run the spindle manually no worries but the issues start when trying to start and set the spindle speed from Mach. I have used a mm to confirm the Pmdx is outputting both a correct pwm voltage to the VFD, the VFD is displaying a a coordinating frequency and the connection between FOR and COM is made. My three guesses at 1.30am on a Monday morning are that I don't have my ports and pins set up right (unlikely as the pmdx 107 seems to be working as expected), I have screwed up a setting on either the pmdx or vfd and lastly my VFD is broken.... Any other suggestions as to how I can trouble shoot this problem? |

| Im configuring a similar setup and made it work almost as I want, the only remaining problem is to be able to tell an exact speed, now my error is about 100~200 RPM for a 1440RPM induction motor. Did you configured in the spindle setup tab the FWD/REV pins? Here are the parameters for my motor: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...zU21GdXc&hl=en Check header for motor specs and change accordingly to your high speed spindle Asked Steve@PMDX and I'm waiting for his reply. cheers

I seem to have the same issue to seeing a different speed on mach 3 and on the VFD.... I pulled all the wires and rewired from scratch and managed to get things working well enough for now but if you find a solution please post it up as I would like to get them reading the same thing good luck! |

| Made it work! Adjusted mach3 pulley to 0-1440 Adjusted PWM setting in spindle setup to 100 Did the calibration procedure for the pmdx-107 I had the usable range from 50 to 10hz thats why it was almost accurate at high speeds and failed at lower speeds, now I set it up to 50hz (pd0072) - 0hz (pd0073) and it follows mach3 perfectly with only 2rpm error ![]() Updated the spreadsheet Pablo

Well I had an other stab this afternoon and still no luck.... I have set the spindle speed in mach3 to 24000 (max for my spindle) and let it rip. The VFD is reading 23200 and the output from the pmdx is just under 10v. When I run the calabration the vfd dreads 24000 solid so I am guessing it seems to be an issue with mach. Any guesses as to the setting I need to change? "Did you configured in the spindle setup tab the FWD/REV pins?" no I set it to run under PWM and entered 400 Hz and left the other setting at 5% (unsure what that does but suspect this may be my issue so moved it to 1% and up to 50% with no improvement to my situation) The settings I used: Adjusted mach3 pulley to 0-24000 Did the calibration procedure for the pmdx-107 I set up pdoo72 to 400, pd0073 set to 0 Might pop back to the basement and see if setting the pwm setting % to 100 is going to give me the same reading on mach and the VFD thanks jestah |

| Steve@pmdx suggested me to use 100 for PWM since I was using 35000 for mach3 pulsing engine, any number below 1000 should work there is no need to go high. Do your reading match actual speed somewhere along the full range? You can try the values in my spreadsheet changing 50hz to 400hz. Did you adjusted the spindle pulleys in mach3? also in the 107 manual tells about a linearity file that needs to be deleted and mach3 restarted before doing the calibration REV/FWD forgot that these spindles only turn to one side. good luck!
