So what are people using for dust shoe Skirting? I'm building my own machine and have made a dust shoe as in plate to mount router that will also hold the shop vac hose but havent decided what material to use for the skirt, I'm afraid that if its too weak it will pull in to the vac/tool, or to stiff to create movement problems. I also was going to make some nice cam style material holders I found on this site but since my system crashed and burned a couple weeks ago I lost the dxf s that I had squirled away and now I cant find that thread to save my life. thank you for any and all help. | I struggled to find the correct weight of material as well - same reasoning as you. In the end, I got ahold of a few feet of clear vinyl. It's used in car washes, and in truck loading bays during winter to allow the door to be open, but minimize loss of warm air. I wrap it around the dust shoe twice, cut slots 1" apart on the inner layer of skirting, then cut the second layer's slots in between each first layer slot.
