I'm loving the z axis that spoiledbrat is building and I'm wondering how do I size the linear slides to make my own? Take a look at this picture in his build (http://www.cnczone.com/forums/attach...2&d=1278982693) the slide rails appear to be nearly 3/4" of an inch tall but when the 2 pieces of 3/4" aluminum are sandwiched together I don't think they are that tall, otherwise the coupler which I believe is 1" dia. would have a lot more breathing room. Everything that I look at when shopping for slides are puny, I could use some guidance on making a selection... My design is to use 2 - 3/4" slabs of aluminum with 2 linear slides and 4 blocks, is that enough info.? Thanks for any input. Adam, |
