Newbie Question? I am in the process of finishing my CNC router design. •It will be a 4x8 full cutting bed. (Still working on the overall bed size for this) •Will be using rack and pinion on the x and y axis. •Will be using 2 1100oz/in motors on the x axis and 1 1100oz/in on the y axis. •Will be using acme on the z axis with 8” travel and 1 600oz/in on this axis. I am trying to decide either using a dc brushless system or stepper motor with micro stepping. I have been looking in the forum and have seen some reasons, but not convincing info. I know that most are building with stepper motors. I plan on cutting panels, sign making and carving also. I am still leaning too the stepper motors. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Cheers… Howard |
