Looking for precision collets for a Porter Cable 7310 laminate trimmer t othe speed up for cutting with .025" diameter cutters. Desire less than .001" or so.

Anyone got any sources?

Oops!!!

The shank diameter is .125" and the cutter itself is .025".

A .125" collet for a Porter Cable model 7310 is a more accurate description.

Looks like I had a "short between the headsets"!!

Thanks

Have you tried whatever people in your area provide carbide drill bits for printed circuit board drilling and routing....I draw a blank on what the national company names are....their collets are generally 1/4 inch.

Bingo, CRFultz!!!

Won't fit my Porter Cable laminate trimmer but will fit my variable speed Makita!!!

For now I can dial back my feed speeds and get busy cutting. Was hoping to use the 40K rpm of the PC 7310 to increase feeds.

That ER type collet gets me out of the starting blocks. Sure would hate to bust a handful of $18 cutters due to excessive runout.

Thanks again

A .125" collet for a Porter Cable model 7310

I have a Porter Cable 7310 Laminate trimmer on my CNC.

Do a search on Amazon.com for a 1/8" collet. That is where I bought the one I am using.

The 1/8" collet fits inside any 1/4" collet and will work on any router which will accept a 1/4" shank cutter. The price was around $14.95. It works great with 1/8" carbide cutters.

1/8" Shank Carbide Cutters

There are several people who are selling 1/8" carbide cutters and drills on e-bay. Carbide cutter sizes are from 0.009" up to 0.125".

I purchased about 225 of these in various sizes. The price is more than reasonable. Cutters average 20 to 30 cents each used. $5.00 -$8.00 each new.

Do a search on Micro Carbide Cutters
