C10 breakout board I/O questions | | I am in the middle of a design/build process for a CNC router. This will be a 3axis machine and I'm getting the NEMA 34 640oz-in kit (including cnc4pc C10 breakout board) from Kelinginc.net and Mach3 software.
I've studied various media PDF/video manuals on both the C10 and Mach3, and have learned there are only 5 inputs available - 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15. Well - really just 4 because pin 10 is the E-stop.
I'd like to have both limit and home switches for all three axes. My thought was to wire one each of the x, y and z limit switches in series and connect them to say pin 11 then use 12, 13 and 15 to double as the other end limit as well as the home switch. I just got finished watching a video from Mach3 on setting up limits/home and it said you could use the same switch and home. Does this seem reasonable? Suggestions on how these inputs are typically configured?
Also, on the outputs - I understand a number of output functions can be setup and the C10 board puts 5 volts to a given pin for the programmed output when it is turned on. Could a person use a 3-32vdc solid state relay to serve as a slave relay to turn on a larger load such as an AC motor?
Thanks,
