I have a surplus/salvage place in town with a lot of long Roll-on X-rail: http://www.rollon.com/Cataloghi/XRai...AIL_E_1009.pdf For a GREAT price. Would this be a good choice for linear guides for my 4x6 router? I would not be able to buy long linear rails for this kind of price. The wheels guide in a dovetailed track. It looked like the middle wheel could be adjusted by making it rise or fall, which would make it mesh with the rail with no slack. Assuming the rail was of consistent dimensions all the way down. The linear bearings I inspected rolled down them smoothly and tightly by my "feel". Would they be a good choice for a large router? |

| I'm sure they would be pretty good, I actually own a few of their larger 43 series rails and trucks, and they're so strong I probably could make the frame fo rmy machine out of the rails! I do have some 18 series that I plan to use for the Z carriage, and 43 series for the X and Y... I don't know if these are, but the ones I have have ground and hardened chases in the rails... |
