Hi Im starting to plan building my own CNC router. I have access to about 250 meter ALU profiles in different shapes, dimensions etc. Im thinking in building the frame in 100x30mm (3mm thick) and 50x50mm (3mm thick) I will have to make some sort of couplers/assembels, that I can router out with a Copy router for alu (old but good machine) Im thinking in making it something like this, and make threaded holes. I will use largeheaded umbraco-bolts. It will look something like this: ![]() The machine should be used to wood and plastic, but ALU would also be nice. The dimensions on the cutting area, should be around 800x1200mm Will the ALU profiles I have be "strong" enough for this? If there are any words you don't understand, please let me know. It's not always easy to find the right word when translating |
