Has anyone purchased from Kinkda in China? I have been looking at a 2.2Kw water cooled spindle from Kinkda. I've received a chart of features and price listing. Choices are mainly for bearings which include domestic bearings, NSK bearings, and finally German FAG bearings. A couple red flags popped up; first they want a Western Union payment, for me a serious no-no for overseas transactions. Second was a bait and switch, they don't have any NSK spindles and don't know when they'll be back in stock but we have the FAG bearing for $70 more. I would really appreciate hearing from someone with first hand experience with this company. |

| Most people buy them from Ebay.

| Western Union is probably similar to a T/T (Telegraphic Transfer) via commercial bank. If so, then there is nothing wrong with that. T/Ts are a common method of payment in International Trade. But if you don't feel comfortable in dealing with that particular company, try these people.....http://jsxingchen.en.alibaba.com/pro...2/spindle.html I believe they will sell you one unit but they may be asking for a T/T as well..... Different URL http://xcspindle.com/product.asp

| I checked the KINKDA BANKING page on their website http://www.kinkda.cn/page/Bank/index.php The T/T routing instructions look totally above board to me. Bear in mind that a T/T (or Western Union) will cost more than an International Money Order if you airmail the latter. If you send MO by courier (Fedex, DHL) you may just as well pay the T/T fee and get the transaction going right away.

| Thanks for the replies. It's not a lot of money, $600, but I just feel like I'm tossing it up in the wind and hoping something will come back. I have no recourse whatsoever. I've never dealt with this type of transaction before and wanted some first hand experience. Sounds like I'm the first one on this board to give it a try. I'm also concerned that they have a registered website kinkda.com but their email address is a hotmail account. Also with a $200 upgrade in bearings from "domestic" to FAG, the only way I will know if I'm getting what I paid for is to dissect it when it arrives. If I roll the dice, I'll post my experience back here. |

| Western Union, is an unprotected purchasing method. However, since it is international, western union or wire transfer is not uncommon. There have been people who have purchased chinese spindles, but perhaps not this exact one you speak of. http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101803 http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68736 I think the overall idea is, they do work, but not sure for how long and that the quality of each one is not the same. But the fact that it is so cheap, makes it a semi-disposal item, as opposed to an expensive spindle that you want to keep repairing. |
