motor size question

how much oz-in motor do you need.
for working woods and aluminum on a diy mill
250 450 600 1200? any suggestion
table 30x32" if that matters

What are you using for drive? Ball screw, rack n pinion?
What hp router or spindle?
What materials will it be built out of?
Linear bearings? Skateboard bearing?
And overall design?
All of these things need to be addressed, at least a couple before we can give a response. not being rude just trying to help.

cut speed im not in a hurry. this is a hobby mil
i will do mostly woodworking on it and some very little aluminum but not much
cut dept 1/4 cutter maybe .5 per cut for roughs cuts.

I think you would be fine with a gecko 540 and nema 23 at 380 oz inch motors like Ahern sells. But im in the building stage so what do i know.
