Idiot Newbie needs to identify sources of parts.

As a complete DIY newbie I would like to know if there are any catalogs that are equivalents to what KeyStone and Digikey and Arrow(I think it's called Arrow) are in electronics component field.

For instance, I just saw a CNC routing machine that uses and abrasive roller drive to propel sheet stock on the Y-axis to be routed. There were also some smoother rubber guide rollers.
Where do you find such things?

Is there some catalog or catalogs that have stock things like ball gears, rack and pinions, belt drives, rollers...ie the mechanicals.

There seems to a lot out there in the electronics area in the realm of stepper motor, solenoids, controller boards.
If the part is electrical there is already a plethora of info.

But if the part is a hunk of metal, with screw threads and a ball drive, that's harder to find info and sources.

I know...I know...don't be so lazy.
Just do searches on the forums.
Trying to tease this info out by doing forum searces is amost impossible.
Its like pulling teeth sifting through 100 post threads for a single offhand mention of what you are seeking.

What this forum needs is a entire TOPIC entitled:
SOURCES AND PROCURMENT OF DIY PARTS.
This would be invaluable.

This main topic could then be broken into subsections.
stepper motors, servos, motion control boards, rollers, ball screws, rack and pinion, drive belts, ....yada yada.

Hopefully, I'm all wet and there are equialent mechanical component catalogs and sources.

Any info or advice for this idiot newbie would be appreciated.
