Linear rail source

Hello everyone,

I usually hang out in the Benchtop Machines forum. But now I have a challenge that is similar to what a CNC router would have.

I just got a contract to build a machine to automate a process for a composites manufacturing company. As part of the machine, I will need to move a 26" x 52" table with a travel of 50" minimum. Since the table is 52" and the travel is 50", I need some linear rails at least 102" long. I am sure there are sources for such rails. I can easily find them 48" long but I am not as familiar with sources as you people would be.

I planned on using round shafting (the style supported on an aluminum extrusion) but am open to other suggestions that may be less expensive.

Any suggestions you have are welcome.

Try that either of those. The support rails can be butt-joined to meet your 102" minimum need, and I'm pretty sure the Uni-Guide goes up to 120". Call them at 1-800-962-8979 and ask to speak with an application engineer.
