Hello all! I have a custom built CNC machine and I was cutting a thin piece of material only cutting .010" I noticed that part way through my program the cuts were getting deeper. Well after a long process of elimination i measured the z axis, ran the program with the router turned off and no tool in the collet. When the program was finished and the machine returned to home, the z axis was of by .300" I check a couple times and the distance was consistent. I am using Mach3 and This is really driving me crazy can anyone point me in the right direction? |

| This happened to me a few weeks ago. My problem ended up being a loose encoder wire ate the motor. Another possibility is a loose encoder, able to rotate freely on the shaft (when it feels like it )If you have steppers, this does not apply. Cheers! ' Rob |
