Well the long title says it all, I live in Houston Texas and my Table is in the garage. I bought this table off of Ebay a year or so ago, it's a Masters CNC 16"x34" table. The table surface is currently made from 3/4" plywood with two aluminum rails running the length for clamps and I'm sure support. The plywood is beginning to or may have always been a bit warped in the center. So I'm in need of a new table top and was looking into MDF, but I'm worried the constant changes in weather here would warp it. So is there any plastics that would work? The machine itself is made from I believe HDPE. Thanks for any help. |

| If it's not supported in the center, anything will sag over time. I'd recommend 3/4" baltic birch. Thicker would be even better. And thoroughly seal all sides with several coats of polyurethane.

| For your conditions I would recommend going with phenolic. MDF while inexpensive will suffer from the same problems, if not worse in some instances then the plywood you now have. Warning, it's rather expensive, but it will remain rock solid level over time and if your work demands precision then it could be well worth it. Look for it where plastic sheet stock is sold or on eBay. |
