Can you guys help me, which is the best motor Sanyo Denki SM2862-5255 bipolar 6A/phase Holding torque 7 NM Resistance 0.36 Ohm/phase inductance 2.8 mh/phase Sanyo Denki SM2862-5155 bipolar 4A/phase Holding torque 7 NM Resistance 0.83 ohm/phase inductance 6.4 mh/phase Is it better to have more inductance or more Amps Thanks |

| With a Higher inductance the current/magnetic field take longer to reach full strength. So a lower inductance allows for a higher switching speed and therefore more usable torque at higher speeds, if that's what you want... Between the two, not counting the Drive used, I'd guess that the -5255 would get you higher speeds and acceleration than the -5155 There are a lot of factors in motor selection... The larger the motor (physically,) the higher the rotational mass so the more power required to accelerate and decelerate just the motor... "Sometimes" a smaller motor can perform better depending on the rest of the system... |
