I was having a little problem getting my gear spacing and timing belt length right for my design. I had a tight fit. It finally dawned on me that I needed to get the belt length and figure the distance between pulleys. I added a few functions to an Excel work sheet that made it easier.
I did not know where to post it. Hope someone can use it. I got the formulas from http://www.misumiamerica.com/ page 169
I checked it a couple of times and it seems OK to me but I am prone to mistakes. Check the work. I am not responsible for the use of this file.

FYI - the spreadsheet has an error.
The cell 8 x (De - de) needs to be
=8*B7^2
(was =8*A7)
anyway - I've got a program now to help me pick belts. Thank you!
