Default Using set tool lengths with a router/collet setup

I have been looking/thinking about a way to have what amount to a front mounted quick change collet adapter for my cnc router (using a router).
Has anyone used something like this, using one for each bit? That way I can touch off the top of the workpeice initially and use the Mach3 tool offset table as I change bits instead of touching off every tool change. I was thinking of building an ER collet holder that will "screw" onton the bottom of the router in place of the collet nut. Then I ran into these and thought they might do what I need. Sort of having an end mounted quick change tool system for repeatable length setups.

Anybody done anything like this with a router? Opinions?

Looks like that would work for what you want. A bit pricy but they look good. The reducing collets are pretty reasonable.

I'd get one and do some testing before you bought several. I know that earlier versions of those had issues with runout.

Seems like just using an automated auto zero would be much easier, as you are still unscrewing the "collet" for each tool change.
