Was looking for switch wire when this occurred to me, and seems to be cheaper than off the roll here in the uk so thought id share.

Yes, audio cables are usually well shielded and flexible - a perfect combination for the job. In fact, I'm running NEMA17 steppers in my desktop CNC with Belden audio cable (the one that has 4 conductors instead of 2).
