Default Cheap UK Lead Screw, but is it any good?

I've found some cheap screws that look as though they might be useful for CNC drives. But are they too cheap.

    See picture...

    Specs are

    28mm Diameter
    5mm Pitch
    535mm length
    Precision rolled
    Flanged nut included
    Cost £11.33 Inc VAT

Like your name "MrBean" Haven't seen him on TV over here for some time.

The problem may be excess play in the nut. This could be fixed by the use of a material here in the states called "Moglice"
    http://www.moglice.com/
There's an article about it in the Jan-Feb issue of "The Home Shop Machinist".

    It sounds pretty good.

I believe that Moglice is quite expensive, and I believe it would be cheaper to buy a good acme screw than to try to get the play out of a woodworking vise screw.
