what spindle should i get

looking to cut all types of wood plastic and aluminium, i can see a water cooled cnc spindle kit on bay for £500 which is 4kw would that be more then enough or what would you recommend?

what you can cut has more to do with your machine then your spindle, you need a very stiff machine to cut aluminum. i have a 2 KW chinese spindle and VFD on my CNCRP pro4848 and it cuts aluminum, but it take it pretty slow. i don't like cutting metal since my machine is not set up to work with coolant and it gums up the cutter pretty quickly, and since i don't have fully protected cables i have to spend hours making sure there isn't any tiny sharp piece of metal in with the cables because it will vibrate through power and water lines in no time.

i'm sure with 4 KW you will be able to cut through aluminum pretty quickly, if your machine can handle it.
