    Default super pid on/off

hey guys got a question for ya. got my super pid all hooked and went to turn on through the break out board low and behold when it powers up it turns on automatically. it seems that deskcnc (breakou board) is wired backwards for this . has anyone actually got it to turn on and off with deskcnc going through the board. i would rather not hook up a on off switch.

    thanks
    William

You should be able to reverse the operation of the pin in mach3. This however could lead to the router turning on before mach3 takes over. In this case you may have to use your breakout board to turn a relay on and off then use the relay contacts to control the run lead on the SuperPID.

This is a safe and practical way to do it.

He said he's using DeskCNC, not Mach3.

So is DeskCNC CAM software or Controller software, or both. In its description is says CAM software.

It looks like a 2D/3D CAM program.

In any case the realy is the safest soulution.

desk cnc is breakout board / breakout board controller software / and cam software as well. i have both but like deskcnc. I emailed Carl at deskcnc about it and he always replies one way or the other.

I think i am going to have to go the way that msimpson99 said about the relay, just going to have to figure out how.

Here is a little writeup I did for router control. Probably not much relates to the hardware you are using but it might help. Instead of switching the AC current with the relay, you will be controlling the run pin on the SuperPID. You will be pulling it high (5v) or low (GND) to control the run pin.

The advantage of switching the AC as well as the enable is for safety at boot up and E-stop, or when changing out tooling.

so Al the Man you would suggest having the relay control the Ac part Going to the (superpid) just like it did before i added it. i guess i could hook it up that way. didnt dawn on me doing it that way again until i saw your reply.

so i could go from deskcnc to the relay. relay to the ac mains on superpid.
    that should work

    Sorry the link is here:
    CNC Router Control

Here is my stuff on the SuperPID.
    KRMx02 Super-PID Upgrade

Both these relate to the G540 so that part wont apply. But its possible you will find something usefull between the two.
