    Default Software

According to info available, most of the Operating Softwares available with different brands accept only g-code formats.
A file in dxf needs a post processor in order to become suitable for the operating software.

LCam, the SHOPCAM Operating Software, accepts files in dxf, g-code and hpgl formats.
Is this a real advantage for a CNC Operator ?

Does it convert dxf to g code on the fly? Do you have to set layer's?

    Thank You,

It takes files in dxf and runs them. You can go to layers menu and turn them on or off, set cutting depth for 2D work (this will determine how many passes) or just set a layer as COLD where you can see it but the machine will not cut it.

    Sounds like a great feature.
