    Question Anyone used these routers?

    First post, been reading alot.

Going to build a mill about 48 x 24 x 8 or so, 3/4 or 1 inch mdf, scavanged thk rails, allthread screws, and home built (arduino based) controller.

Like the birdy says, cheap cheap cheap.

Want to see if anyone has used craftsman routers. Specifically :

28212 6.5 amp Corded Fixed Base Palm Router- Craftsman Professional-Tools-Portable Power Tools-Routers & Laminate Trimmers

    Or

12-amp, 2-hp Fixed Base Router with Soft Start Technology- Craftsman-Tools-Portable Power Tools-Routers & Laminate Trimmers

    Or

    10.0 AMP/VS 1 3/4 HP Plunge Base Router- Craftsman-Tools-Portable Power Tools-Routers & Laminate Trimmers

    Thanks

You might want to do yourself a favor and upgrade from the all-thread to multi-start acme. It's not that expensive but makes a big difference in the feed speeds you'll be able to achieve to give you better chip load characteristics when using a router.

Never used one, but I'd never recommend for anyone to buy a Craftsman power tool. Spend an extra $20 and get a 2-1/4HP Hitachi.

While I can't say I'd recommend them for CNC, I actually have on on my machine now as my Bosch went into retirement. I have to say it's been working well on the CNC...

My first real machine, a Solsylvav build, also had a Craftsman router, and it wasn't bad at all.
