Ok I'll try this again. The photo got cut down. Must have been too large for the forum.
Alright this one is tiny. I'll upload one from home as obviously I don't have the sense to make this work from my phone.
Here's a quick phone pic of the z-axis that I put together. Those are a set of 6 in calipers for scale. There is no leadscrew nut or acme rod in it yet but it moves very smooth with no play in it. There's a little less than four inches travel.
I have to say that after putting one together I think microcarve isn't charging enough for these when he builds them for sale. Just .001 here or there makes a world of difference in whether it slides or sticks solid.

Hi Mike,
The A-Faux looks so good I couldn't tell if from some of the ones I
built myself without looking Very carefully. If the black delrin nuts were
in the front, I might not ever even know...
Man, that is a Great job!
I sure Appreciate the pictures...and hope to see more!
John
Is anyone else building A4's or MV2's? Im having fun cutting with mine and considering a 2nd build of the MV2.
I havent been posting to much in the microcarve threads because i dont want to detract from the awesome content, maybe we can get a new thread started with diy builds?
Ill post a few pictures later of some sample cutting ive done
Hi John,
Are you willing to share your detail CAD plan for your design, where you buy parts to make components, etc..? I am designing my first one from scratch with very little experience and wanted to follow a certain design. I was thinking about MyDIYCNC since they have manual available online. I did some searching about it here and did not see many positive responses. Your one got a lot more votes and I am trying to design one based on this.
Thank you
Lee
Edit: Looking through the long threads and making CAD myself :-). More detail questions might come later. Thanks for a nice design!

Yes, the MicroCarve website was down. It is back up but still not showing any ability to access the forums yet. Should be back soon.
