That particular touchscreen came as a complete unit (LCD screen and digitizer in one unit manufactured by 3M). I happened to get this one as part of a lot of misc surplus parts I bought at a auction (Raw card line in the cities closed down also got a lifetime supply of SS nuts and bolts

Under Ubuntu it was detected and worked out of the box as is.. Except, the axis were inverted and it did not cover the entire screen. After running the calibration utility to get the correct calibration constants and adding them to the X boot script it all works as expected. (took longer to find the commands and where to put them than it did to calibrate and update the scripts.)

If your buying a touch enabled monitor just make sure it's usb and supports linux (some are serial / proprietary and may or may not work on linux without a lot of work if at all). If your going to convert a existing monitor you need to make sure the touch screen film is the correct size for your screen OR it allows to be cut down to the correct size (some can be cut most cannot)

Made some more progress on the drivers. Got 1 of 3 layers all wired up and working on the second. Plus got the enclosure cut and ready to to.
