Point cloud to G-code. What do I need?

Which inexpensive software can you recomend for converting point cloud to g-code?

You need two programs. One to convert the point cloud to a mesh model, and one to create the g-code from the model.

Machcloud is free and will create an .stl from the point cloud.

And any 3D CAM program should be able to create code from the .stl

Meshlab is another program that you might want to take a look at, it is a free program from Italy. Not sure if it will do the point cloud but it is great for smoothing and other tools once you use MacCloud to convert it to a STL.

Any idea how to machine simple 2.5D contour data from a series of XY points - I need to best fit a spline I guess - but need the curves not just straight lines. Then need to offset in Z and with stock. Anyone have an algorthim or recommend low cost software to do this?
