Hi, I have MicroScribe G2X digizer arm and I use it with Rhinoceros. Do someone experiense how to measure large parts with MicroScribe with moving digizer during the measure. Regards Antti

Basically, you need to determine some reference points (3 is enough) that you can use to register the two positions to each other. Mark them on the part near the far edge you can reach (close to the area you'll be moving towards), and mark them in Rhino so you don't lose them. After you've moved the arm, pick those points again, then move the first set of curves (or points) you digitized previously so that the old 3 reference points now coincide exactly with the new 3 points. Make sure you look at more than one view when doing this, since you're working in 3 dimensions, not just two. Then continue digitizing - the two scans should now be one.
