    .csv to dxf

    Hi:

Is a way to import from csv to dxf? I will like to take some onscrean digitaizer data saved on .csv and imported to a cad/cam program. DXF or similar format.

    Thanks,

There are a lot of CAD packages that can read a .csv (delimited file)
Rhino is one that I can think of
You can then export it out to a DXF file

If you need to hold that part down at an angle, my recomendation is to create a curve by doing an offset (normal to the thin surface or edge, if you have that capability), and creating an engraving toolpath to make the cut. With rhinocam, I can select "on condition", and the toolpath follows the line with all three axis. I would build a tablesaw jig, though, if the material is appropriate.

well, how did it turn out?
With all the info and help I received it would have turned out brilliantly, but alas the company had a change of heart and went with the original company to make them (They did'nt want to know first time around)
I was really p*ssed, I must have spent about 4+ hours working out how I was going to do things.
The same company also want me to do some CAD drawing work for them, it will definitely have some extra hours tacked onto that job......
Thanks for everyones input, it will help me a lot for future jobs

    Andy
