Two salesmen from Capture3D came to work today, demoing one of their systems. All I can say is wow. In ten minutes the guy had a 2 million point cloud accurate to .0005 of a very complex part of ours. It created a complete solid model, you could even see the small feed lines left from a ballnose end mill. All without ever touching the part. Just point and shoot.
but the price tag, OUCH! $150,000!

Wow, what a small world. I work for Capture 3D in the Detroit office. Sales would definately improve if the price could come down.
I'm reading everything I can so that this Fall I can build a CNC router. There are so many options...
